Many cats respond to acupuncture quite well. Lydia's Himalayan, Sophie, LOVES it and purrs the entire time she is treated.
Cats need to be treated differently than other animals because, well, they’re cats! Lydia has a special window sill where they can lay on a towel and watch the birds in the bush outside the window. Most quite happily experience acupuncture in this manner. Generally cats need (and tolerate) fewer needles than other animals.
Because cats are so sensitive, they sometimes feel more chi movement than other animals which can cause alarm. After a couple of treatments, however, they usually settle right in and even enjoy it.
